Overview
We have an opportunity to join the Engineering team at West Devon in Hatherleigh. We are looking for a skilled Engineer with electrical bias to support the production and site. Hourly salary between £19.53 and £20.59 (pre overtime).
Shift: Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 15:00 based on a 40‑hour working week. Engineers are graded by skill level, which will be discussed upon inquiry.
Holiday entitlement: 20 days basic + the 8 bank holidays.
Pension: Dunbia uses NEST with auto‑enrolment at the 3‑month point.
Overtime: payable after 40 hours at a premium rate.
Call‑out rota: generally one week in four. Paid at a premium rate.
Additional training is offered to support Engineers in developing their skill set.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring plant equipment is operating and functioning correctly.
- Proven electrical and mechanical knowledge.
- Building maintenance.
- Stainless steel fabrication TIG welding an advantage.
- Maintaining equipment daily to ensure it is fit for its intended purpose.
- Continually developing to improve operations to drive improvements in quality, cost and safety.
- Assisting production with machinery problems and setups, providing relevant training when appropriate.
- Completing daily maintenance check sheets and job card.
Qualifications
- Excellent organisational skills with ability to plan workloads effectively to meet deadlines.
- Well‑developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail, commitment and ability to accept responsibility are key in this role.
- Will be committed to working within the Company Mission, Vision & Values.
- Food industry experience is advantageous.
- Comfortable working at height.
