Working in the site Canteen as part of the onsite Catering Team, duties include responsibility for hot and cold food preparation, cooking and serving meals to our employees, using the till and providing an exceptional customer experience so employees can enjoy refreshments or meals in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

The successful candidate will have a passion for the food industry and a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service. Working hours are 5.30am to 2pm, Monday to Friday.

  • Previous food preparation or catering experience is beneficial, not essential, and full training will be given to the successful candidate including Food Safety Level 2 Training.

Responsibilities:

  • Food preparation, including cooking tasks and meal assembly and serving food to customers in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Crafting eye-catching food and counter displays that draw customers in.
  • Supporting meal and refreshment preparation for visitors to site as and when required.
  • Working within designated margins and costings when preparing meals.
  • Making suggestions for new product lines and new meal ideas to maximise revenue and develop further customers.
  • Responsible use of resources and help to control expenses by minimising waste when preparing meals.
  • Operate the till and handle cash and card transactions accurately.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and health and safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Cleaning of equipment and catering areas during and after food service.
  • Restocking food items, condiments, and utensils as needed.
  • Assist with inventory management and stock rotation.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines including conducting food intake, fridge and hot and cold food temperature checks.
  • Correct use of equipment, ensuring it is used and maintained and stored correctly when not in use.
  • Maintaining accurate records and accounts as required and agreed.
  • Completing all associated paperwork to meet auditing standards.
  • Undertaking any training required to fulfil the role.
