Job Description

A welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Milton Keynes is seeking a skilled and committed SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to start as soon as possible. This is a temp to perm opportunity, supporting students with special educational needs across KS3 to KS4, working alongside teaching staff and the SEN team.

What you’ll be doing:

Providing tailored classroom and 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs

Assisting in the planning and delivery of targeted interventions

Supporting students with EHCPs and helping to implement support strategies

Leading small group activities and occasionally covering lessons under teacher direction

Working closely with the SENCo, teachers, and external professionals

What we’re looking for:

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service – essential and non-negotiable

Relevant UK-based SEN support experience – essential

HLTA qualification or equivalent desirable

Knowledge of a range of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs

Confident, nurturing, and able to build positive relationships with students
