Job Description

Are you an experienced education professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for making a difference in the lives of young people?

We are seeking a Team Leader to join an Alternative Provision within a mainstream school, providing vital support to students who require a tailored approach to their education.

The Role

As a Team Leader, you will:

  • Lead and support a dedicated team of staff working with students in an alternate provision setting.
  • Oversee the daily running of the provision, ensuring a safe, supportive, and structured environment.
  • Work closely with senior leaders, external agencies, and parents/carers to meet the needs of students.
  • Support with behaviour management, intervention strategies, and personalised learning plans.
  • Motivate and inspire students to achieve both academically and personally.

Requirements / Who This Role Would Suit

  • Previous experience working in an alternate provision, PRU, SEMH, or school setting.
  • Strong behaviour management and pastoral care skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and support a team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Resilience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with challenging learners.
  • Also suitable for a confident Teaching Assistant looking for a step up, or for those from a background working with vulnerable children and young people who are ready to take on more responsibility.
