Do you want to be part of a vibrant award-winning youth work team working directly with young people to deliver youth work activities? Youth Work Service in Dumfries and Galloway are offering an opportunity for energetic and enthusiastic individuals to deliver outreach work in rural communities, seasonal activity camps in music, arts, health and wellbeing and STEM subjects, with young people aged 12 – 25 years old. All training required will be provided.
The post will require evening and weekend work on a weekly basis (posts will involve working either Saturday or Sunday every week), for which payment is included in the salary offered.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience for moving forward into roles with other departments such as social work, community development, social sciences or youth work.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council. Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
