We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated teacher to help shape education provision in Dumfries and Galloway. Our commitment to teachers is evident by the provision of high-quality professional learning for all. The position is for 14 hours per week and is based in the Learning Centre within Hecklegirth Primary School. Dumfries and Galloway continues to be innovative in managing learning and teaching, creating opportunities across our schools at all levels. We are recruiting staff for our four districts within the authority. A relocation package of up to £5000 may be available to the successful candidate (Permanent positions only). Applicants must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) in the appropriate sector. This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check before a formal offer of employment is made by Dumfries and Galloway Council. Applicants who have resided outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, will be required to provide a police record check from the police authority in the country or countries of residence, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check.
