Hours: 35 hours per week

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated class teacher to work 35 hours per week at Sheuchan Primary School from August 2025. This position is temporary until August 2026 and may be suitable for a Secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be obtained before applying for this post on a secondment basis.

The successful candidate will provide effective learning and teaching and should demonstrate a commitment to creating a quality learning environment. They will carry out related activities and developments following local, national, and school policies under the direction of the Headteacher.

Applicants must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) in the appropriate sector. This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check before a formal employment offer is made by Dumfries and Galloway Council. Applicants who have resided outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, will need to provide a police record check from the police authority in the country or countries of residence, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check.
