The predicted salary is between 20300 - 20700 £ per year.

You will work 36 hours per week which may include evening and weekend work as and when required.

Duties will include:

  • Working in public parks & playing fields, cemeteries, landscaped and open spaces, grass cutting, hedge trimming and clearing leaves and litter.
  • Assisting in all aspects of the burial service and to assist senior grounds operatives in more skilled tasks as required e.g. care of plants and site preparation and construction.
  • Use of power tools, light plant and operation of tractor mounted equipment will be required.
  • Driving of Community Asset vehicles and operation of equipment.
  • Cleaning of bins and other street/grounds furniture.
  • General maintenance work in public areas including streets, roadsides, parks, playing fields, cemeteries, landscaped areas and similar public open spaces.
  • Other tasks relating to the Community Assets Service, e.g. school crossing patrols, street and open space cleaning and assisting at community facilities.

You must be a team player, able to work on own initiative and be prepared to work outside and in all weather conditions. You will be expected to carry out various duties as instructed by Supervisor and have a working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.

You will be educated to Standard Grade Level. A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged. Experience in horticultural work is desirable.

This post is subject to candidate vetting through Disclosure Scotland.

This post is fixed term for up to 6 months.

This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
