Stranraer Full-Time No working from home possible

We are looking to recruit a Museum Attendant to work at Stranraer Museum. This a one-year post, with potential for extension. 15 hours per week, with the opportunity for additional hours.

This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.

This is a fun and challenging role on a popular local Museum working as job share with the current Senior Museum Attendant.

Working front of house we need reliable, trustworthy and enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about providing a high standard of customer service. This will involve greeting customers, facilitating tours, answering telephones, providing customer information, operating the gift shop, basic record keeping and maintaining building security and cleanliness and participating in the Museum event programme. Excellent communication and customer care skills are essential as is working with members of the public.

Hours are on a fortnightly rota:

Friday and Saturday (fixed days) 9.45-12.30 & 1pm-4.15. (12hrsx2)

One other day per fortnight (day TBC on negotiation) 9.45- 12.30 & 1pm-4.15 (6hrs)

Educated to Standard Grade Level or equivalent and some local knowledge of the area would be an advantage.

This post is subject to a Baseline Personnel Security Standards check, and this includes candidate vetting through Disclosure Scotland.
