This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop the councils waste services across Dumfries and Galloway. The post of Senior Waste Services Manager is a regionwide post and supports the strategic and operational delivery of waste services across Dumfries and Galloway.
This post will lead the Council’s waste collection and waste disposal functions including managing a portfolio of assets including a Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) plant, household waste recycling centres and transfer stations. The role will be responsible for the future development of the waste, recycling and re-use strategy linking directly to local and national policies and priorities such as the circular economy and zero landfill and to drive forward the Councils ambitions in relation to climate change relating to waste services.
The Senior Waste Services Manager will directly manage service managers who have operational responsibility for waste collection and waste disposal. The role will include the management and visible leadership of service provision to ensure a customer focused service.
