Senior Social Worker – Social Work Out of Hours (16/283)

Location: Dumfries

We are a busy Social Work team working with out of hours public protection partners to meet the needs of vulnerable groups across Dumfries and Galloway. You will collaborate with other Senior Social Workers in the team, as well as colleagues from daytime services.

We seek a Senior Social Worker with at least three years post-qualifying experience and the energy to contribute significantly to our out of hours service, ensuring safety until the next working day. Supervisory experience is desirable.

You will need skills to develop effective relationships with colleagues and other agencies; in return, you will receive regular supervision.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain first-line managerial experience in a busy and supportive environment.

Essential qualifications include a DipSW, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent, along with SSSC registration.

A current driving licence is essential. If you have a disability preventing you from holding a licence, alternative transport arrangements will be considered.

This post involves Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will need to join the PVG Scheme or update their PVG check before a formal offer is made.

Applicants previously resident outside the UK within the last 5 years must provide a police record check from the relevant authorities in the countries of residence, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check.
