You will lead a small team of Roads Operatives delivering a wide range of road maintenance and construction activities across the region. The role ensures all works are completed to required standards, meet quality specifications, and maintain strong productivity levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team undertaking road maintenance and construction tasks.
- Carry out activities including:
- Laying paving slabs, kerbs, concrete and asphalt
- Drainage works
- Temporary traffic management (signs, cones, barriers)
- General road maintenance duties
Requirements
- Category C driving licence (essential)
- Relevant Health and Safety Training (essential)
- New Roads and Street Works Act qualification (Essential)
- Experience in road maintenance, construction, or a related operational environment
- Ability to lead, motivate and support a small team
- Commitment to safe working practices and use of PPE
- Willingness to participate in winter/summer and emergency response duties
Additional Information
These are permanent, full-time posts (36 hours per week) based across our Roads Service depots. Full induction and training will be provided for all duties, including winter maintenance.
