Our staff are dedicated to ensuring the best possible attainment, achievement, and wellbeing of our learners. A vacancy has arisen for a permanent Principal Teacher of Pupil Support. The post will involve supporting the learning and behavioural needs of young people enrolled in the school.
The holder of this post will work closely with staff, parents/carers, and partner agencies to ensure the best educational outcomes for all young people with any support need. Successful candidates will also undertake teacher duties as per SNCT handbook Part 2: Section 2. We welcome interest from suitably experienced and registered secondary teachers.

This post forms part of Dumfries Learning Town schools and/or the Bridge to deliver courses as part of the BGE and/or senior phase curriculum as appropriate to meet the needs of our learners.
Requirements:
- Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS).
- This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
- Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment.
- Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
As part of the recruitment and selection process, we ask that you provide ONE completed reference alongside your application form. The reference should be submitted prior to the closing date.
In line with Section 21 (2A) of the Education (Scotland) Act 1980, the successful candidate will require the approval of the Roman Catholic Church. Applicants are advised that it is their responsibility to obtain such approval at the same time as submitting the application form.
Please note - Pay arrangements for those starting after the first day of the school session will have their salary recalculated to reflect how teachers accrue pay and leave.
