Teacher Additional Support for Learning (0.6 FTE, Temporary) – Inclusion Base (West). Unpromoted Teacher Scale – £36,159 – £54,453. This is a 21 hours per week post. The role is peripatetic and the successful candidate will teach within the Inclusion Base at Minnigaff and assess and work with individual pupils/groups of pupils in a variety of schools in Stewartry and the West of Dumfries and Galloway. The post includes consulting with/advising teachers, liaising with partners on Children's Plans, and attending a variety of pupil meetings. The appointment is temporary up to August 2027. This position may be suitable for a Secondment; agreement from the line manager must be sought before applying for a secondment.
Responsibilities
- Teach within the Inclusion Base in Minnigaff and support learning across a range of schools in Stewartry and the West of Dumfries and Galloway.
- Assess and work with individual pupils and groups in a variety of school settings.
- Consult with and advise teachers; liaise with partners to Children’s Plans.
- Attend a variety of pupil meetings as part of the role.
- Deliver this post on a temporary basis up to August 2027.
Requirements
- Applicants must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) in the appropriate sector.
- This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
- Applicants who have resided outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the authority in the country or countries of residence, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check.
- As part of the recruitment process, please provide ONE completed reference with your application form; it will be read in conjunction with your application. The reference should be submitted prior to the closing date and emailed to Mr Darren Andrews.
