You will be required to work 31.25 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.

Monday to Friday: 8.00am - 14.15pm

This position is to take charge of a large busy school kitchen. You will be responsible for a large team within the kitchen and servery units out with.

You will be given support / direction from your line manager. You must have Catering Manager or supervisory experience as well as cooking skills / experience.

Part of your duties within this role will include the following:

  • Provide meals for nursery children, primary and secondary pupils and transporting food to dedicated primaries.
  • Support the services event and hospitality functions as and when required.

Your role will be to:

  • Be responsible for a large team of staff, their absences and training.
  • Manage the kitchen budget.
  • Be responsible for H.A.S.A.W. and CookSafe.
  • Be fully Allergen Aware and cater for children and young people with food allergies and/or intolerance.
  • Organise the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
  • Work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Approach problem management with ease.
  • Deal with any complaints.
  • Follow Council processes and procedures.
  • Carry out cash handling and end of day procedures in relation to banking of monies.
  • Use technology.
  • Customer awareness.
  • Be aware of the current food trends and customer awareness.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
