We are now looking for a Building Facilities Assistant (also known as School Janitor) to join our friendly, supportive team at Beattock Primary. This is an excellent opportunity if you are seeking term-time, family-friendly work in a role where your contribution is genuinely valued.
About the role:
You will be part of a dynamic, customer-facing facilities team, providing essential janitorial and cleaning support to help keep the school safe, clean and welcoming for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Your duties will include:
- Carrying out general cleaning and janitorial tasks to a high standard
- Supporting daily building safety checks and health & safety procedures
- Assisting the Lead Occupier with safe operation of the premises
- Supporting energy efficiency and responsible building usage
- Liaising professionally with all staff and service users
You will work both independently and as part of a small team, using a proactive, organised, and methodical approach.
Working Hours: 4.75 hours per week, 8am-8.57am Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
