We will train you to be part of our dynamic and reactive customer facing building facilities team to provide essential janitorial and cleaning tasks in our local buildings. We need someone that can work within a small team, work independently, and be self-motivated. The post holder will provide essential building safety tasks throughout Lockerbie Town Hall. You will support the Lead Occupier in undertaking daily safety checks, general cleaning and supporting energy efficiency and usage throughout the premises.
You will have Health and Safety responsibilities and recognise your duty to client liaison. You are required to be flexible and highly motivated to provide a high-quality support service of building facilities and cleaning services to our existing clients. You will be approachable while working in a proactive, organised, and methodical manner.
We will provide you with training in cleaning tasks, use of equipment and chemicals, and general health and safety. You will work 19 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year, 5 over 7 days. Times of work will be discussed at the interview.
This post is fixed term for up to 18 months. This post may be suitable for attachment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post. Good communication skills are essential. A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council. Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
