We are seeking a motivated, reliable and enthusiastic Leisure Attendant to join our team at Sanquhar Swimming Pool and help us deliver a safe, welcoming and enjoyable experience for all our customers.

Available: You will be required to work 12.5 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year.
About the Role As a Leisure Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our customers.
Working as part of a friendly and supportive team, your duties will include: Supervising pool and leisure areas to ensure customer safety at all times.
Lifeguarding and responding appropriately to emergencies.
Providing excellent customer service and communicating effectively with customers and colleagues.
Undertaking cleaning and maintenance duties to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
Setting up and dismantling sports and recreational equipment.
Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the facility.
About You We are looking for someone who: Has experience working with the general public and children.
Demonstrates excellent customer care and communication skills.
Can work effectively as part of a team.
Is reliable, proactive and committed to maintaining a safe environment.
Experience working in a swimming pool or leisure environment would be advantageous.
Qualifications Ideally, you will hold: A current RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) .
A valid First Aid Certificate .
However, training can be provided for suitable candidates.
Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation is desirable.
Additional Information Regular training sessions are an essential part of this role and attendance is required.
The post involves shift work, including evenings and weekends.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
