The predicted salary is between 26187 - 26637 £ per year.
We require a motivated, reliable and enthusiastic individual to work as part of our team carrying out general leisure attendant duties, ensuring customer safety at all times, lifeguarding, communicating effectively with members of the public and other staff, undertaking cleaning duties and setting up and dismantling of sports equipment in a safe environment. You will be based at DG1 and will assist in actively promoting DG1 and Leisure and Sport activities.
The leisure facility has 3 swimming pools and a health suite with sauna and steam room, a 6-court sports hall hosting a range of sports and activities, a large fitness suite, 2 fitness studios and a wellbeing area as well as meeting rooms available for hire.
Experience of working with the public and customer care is desirable and ideally you will have experience of working in swimming pools. A current RLSS Lifeguarding qualification is essential for this post. You will be required to attend regular staff training sessions as part of the requirement of this post. This post will include shift work including evenings and weekends. Part time hours will be considered for this post.
Please note both these posts are Fixed Term for a period of 14 weeks working between June and September 2026. This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council. Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
