We will train you to be part of our dynamic and reactive customer facing building facilities team to provide essential janitorial and cleaning tasks across multiple sites across the West of Dumfries and Galloway. You will be supported by your line manager and given direction/instruction as and when required.

We need someone that can work within a small team, work independently, and be self-motivated. You will support the Lead Occupiers in undertaking daily safety checks, general cleaning and supporting energy efficiency and usage throughout the premises. You will have Health and Safety responsibilities and recognise your duty to client liaison. You are required to be flexible and highly motivated to provide a high-quality support service of building facilities and cleaning services to our existing clients. You will be approachable while working in a proactive, organised, and methodical manner.

You will work 36 hours per week 52.14 weeks per year. Times of work will be discussed at the interview. We will provide you with training in iPad/Microsoft Apps, cleaning tasks, use of equipment and chemicals, and general health and safety.

Requirements

A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged. This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council. Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident. Good communication skills are essential.
