Based at Annan HWRC, you will assist and advise the public to maximise recycling and help with the manual handling of their waste. You will keep the HWRC free from litter and debris and work in accordance with all site procedures, licences and site rules. You will also be required to assist with some duties on the Transfer Station.
You must be educated to a Standard Grade level. You will have good communication and interpersonal skills, be self-motivated and be able to work under pressure.
Experience in the waste industry, building industry or another relevant industry would be a desirable attribute. It would also be desirable to have experience in customer service. You should have an understanding of the importance of recycling and Health & Safety in the workplace. A current telehandler ticket is essential or the willingness to be trained in telehandler use.
The post available for HWRC Operative is one permanent post of 12 hours per week (6 hours per day Saturday and Sunday).
This post may be required to cover other Household Waste Recycling Centres from time to time.
