The predicted salary is between 21286 - 21646 £ per year.

You will be required to work 31.5 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year.

Based at Castle Douglas HWRC, you will assist and advise the public to maximise recycling and help with the manual handling of their waste. You will keep the HWRC free from litter and debris and work in accordance with all site procedures, licences and site rules. You will also be required to assist with some duties on the Transfer Station.

You must be educated to a Standard Grade level. You will have good communication and interpersonal skills, be self-motivated and be able to work under pressure. Experience in the waste industry, building industry or another relevant industry would be a desirable attribute. It would also be desirable to have experience in customer service. You should have an understanding of the importance of recycling and Health & Safety in the workplace. A current telehandler ticket is essential or the willingness to be trained in telehandler use.

The post available for HWRC Operative:

  • 1 x permanent post of 31.5 hours per week
  • 9 hours per day on a two week rolling rota as follows; Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday the 1st week and Wednesday, Thursday the 2nd week

This post may be required to cover other Household Waste Recycling Centres from time to time. This post is subject to candidate vetting through Disclosure Scotland.
