School Crossing Patrol (7/30010) at Gretna Primary School.
Salary: £4,438.73 - £4,514.51
You will work 7.5 hours per week (1.5 hours daily – estimated 8.20am-9.20am, and 2.50pm-3.20pm weekdays), 38 weeks per year.
Your responsibilities include:
- Assisting school pupils in crossing a potentially busy highway.
- Undertaking duties concerned with the safe passage of school children and other pedestrians across the road to and from school.
- Controlling and directing traffic at crossing areas.
- Operating hazard warning signs and identifying any roadside hazards.
- Controlling the behaviour of children at crossing areas.
The post will involve working in all weather conditions.
This position is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates are required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries & Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check.
