Overview

General Assistant (Fixed Term) – Nethermill Primary School

Salary: £3,040.04 - £3,091.92

Responsibilities

  • Run the Breakfast Club, Monday to Friday from 8:00am–9:00am, supporting pupils in a safe, welcoming and positive environment.
  • Attend to set-up from 8:00–8:15am, supervise and engage with pupils during the club from 8:15–8:45am, and assist with clean-down from 8:45–9:00am.
  • Ensure pupils start their school day settled, nourished and ready to learn; promote safety and good behaviour.
  • Food and hygiene training will be provided.

Qualifications and experience

  • Motivated, organised with a pleasant manner and relevant experience working with children and young people.
  • Educated to Standard Grade English and Mathematics at Level 4 or equivalent.
  • This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your Line Manager must be sought before applying.

Security and compliance

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment by Dumfries and Galloway Council. Applicants who have resided outside the UK within the last 5 years will be required to provide a completed police record check from the relevant police authority in the country or countries of residence, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check.
