Exciting training opportunity - This is an entry-level opportunity ideal for someone at the start of their career. No prior work experience required – full training provided.

Based at Cargen Tower, Dumfries, this post sits within the integrated Business Services Team, which provides a full range of clerical and administrative support to services across Dumfries and Galloway Council.

You will be required to work 20 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year, Monday to Friday. Working times to be determined.

We are seeking a self-motivated and proactive individual to join the Core Services Admin Hub as a Trainee. The post holder will gain valuable work experience and complete an enhanced 12-month training programme, progressing to a Senior Clerical Assistant role on successful completion.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic, progressive team in a fast-paced, challenging and rewarding environment.

Duties will include entering, updating and retrieving data across a range of database systems, processing financial information, and communicating with officers both within and outside the service. The role will also involve general clerical duties within an office environment.

Applicants must be educated to Standard Grade level in relevant subjects. A good working knowledge of Microsoft packages is essential. Knowledge of Dumfries and Galloway Council’s financial, HR, performance monitoring and health and safety practices is desirable.
