This is a pivotal moment for Dumfries and Galloway, with major regional developments coming together to place the area firmly in the national spotlight. This Service Manager role offers the chance to lead a busy planning and building standards service to meet the challenges of emerging developments of scale and complexity, a busy workload of local developments and the development of the third local development plan for Dumfries and Galloway.
You will be an experienced leader with professional expertise in planning practice, a track record of success in managing planning and building standards teams within a local authority environment and demonstrate an ability to build effective and cohesive teams. Educated to degree standard in planning and a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute you will possess significant relevant work experience. You will be supported by and work with senior officers of the Economy and Infrastructure Directorate and the wider Council, Elected Members and stakeholders to deliver an effective and high performing planning service for the area.
A significant relocation package of up to £5000 is available to the successful candidate. Dumfries and Galloway Council offer flexible working arrangements including hybrid and home working.
