We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic fitness instructor to join our team. Working a shift pattern, you will provide expert instruction in all aspects of our fitness suite and studio developing high quality health and fitness opportunities for people of all ages. You must have a passion for customer care and be able to assist the Lead Fitness Instructor to drive customer sales and retention forward.

The ability to work as part of a team is essential, and you must be able to use your own initiative to meet targets regarding our members. Your customer care skills must be excellent and we require someone with a friendly and outgoing personality. Legend, our Leisure Management System, is integral to our business, and a basic knowledge of IT is desired.

You will ideally possess a recognised Level 2 Gym Instructor /Exercise to Music qualification / registration on The Register of Exercise Professionals at Level 2 or above/ Les Mills qualified discipline. Applications will be considered from candidates who possess only one of these qualifications as training may be provided.

A First Aid Qualification, IT skills and knowledge of Health and Safety would be an advantage.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
