This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented and ambitious individual to join our leadership team at Dumfries and Galloway Council. We are ambitious for our region, focused on supporting our communities to thrive and prosper and ensuring that we provide quality services and better outcomes for the citizens and communities in Dumfries and Galloway.
As a member of the Council’s Management team, you will work collaboratively with other Chief Officers and Elected Members to deliver the Council’s vision and ambition for our region. You will drive forward transformational change and innovation, support collaborative working within a one-Council approach, and work to support the financial stability of the Council and address future challenges.
Importantly, you will have responsibility for the strategic leadership of the Facilities, Waste and Neighbourhood services, and provide empowerment and support to teams to help them flourish and continue to make a difference to the lives of our citizens.
We are seeking a visible and forward-thinking leader with a track record of success at a senior level within a complex organisation. You should be educated to degree standard or equivalent.
Essential qualities include being a first-class communicator and a natural relationship manager, with an appreciation and understanding of working within a political environment. A strategic approach and vision to deliver change, service improvement, development and implementation of policies, partnership working, financial planning and people management skills together with a strong customer focus is essential.
