Dumfries Academy is looking to recruit a Casual Minibus Driver to work as and when required to convey pupils to and from schools, colleges, and other venues for trips, educational visits, and events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport pupils to various destinations including colleges, school trips, and other venues.
- Ensure the vehicle is roadworthy, clean, and compliant with safety standards.
- Maintain journey records and report any issues promptly.
- Work collaboratively with staff to ensure pupil safety and wellbeing during transport.
Essential Requirements:
- D1 entitlement on your UK driving licence.
- Minimum 12 months’ experience driving D1 category vehicles.
- Willingness to work flexibly, often at short notice.
Desirable Qualifications:
- A current PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle) licence entitlement.
- A valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC).

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
