We’re now looking for a Building Facilities Assistant to join our friendly, supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity in a role where your contribution is genuinely valued.

We will train you to be part of our dynamic and reactive customer facing building facilities team who will travel within an agreed catchment area of Dumfries to provide essential cleaning and janitorial tasks in our schools.

About the role

You’ll be part of a dynamic, customer facing facilities team, providing essential janitorial and cleaning support to help keep the school safe, clean and welcoming for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Your duties will include:

  • Carrying out general cleaning and janitorial tasks to a high standard
  • Supporting daily building safety checks and health & safety procedures
  • Assisting the Lead Occupier with safe operation of the premises
  • Supporting energy efficiency and responsible building usage
  • Liaising professionally with all staff and service users

You’ll work both independently and as part of a small team, using a proactive, organised, and methodical approach.

Working Hours

30 hours per week, working 5 over 7 days per week (as directed by line manager) 52.14 weeks per year. This post is fixed term for up to 18 months.
