Children and Families Social Work Services is recruiting a Bairns’ Hoose Development Officer to support the implementation of a trauma‑sensitive, rights‑based and recovery‑focused Bairns’ Hoose model across Dumfries and Galloway. This role is focused on service development, implementation and improvement, working at a system and programme level to embed the European Barnahus approach within local arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Project manage and support the implementation of the Bairns’ Hoose model in Dumfries and Galloway
- Work closely with Children and Families colleagues and a range of multi‑agency partners
- Contribute to programme planning, governance and delivery arrangements
- Apply quality improvement and service improvement methodologies to support effective implementation
- Support alignment with national improvement programmes, policies and initiatives
- Help ensure that children’s voices and lived experience are reflected in service design and delivery
Essential Requirements
- Educated to SCQF Level 9 (or equivalent)
- Good working knowledge of:
- National improvement projects and initiatives
- Quality improvement approaches and tools
- Project and programme management methodologies
- Understanding of collaborative, multi‑agency working in children’s services
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council. Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
