Depute Nursery Manager (Fixed Term)

We are seeking to recruit a committed and dedicated Depute Nursery Manager to work as an effective member of our Early Years Team, delivering a high quality child-centred service which meets the needs of children and their families.

You will be required to work 36 hours per week as Depute Nursery Manager, 39 weeks per year. This position is Fixed Term until summer 2026.

As Depute Nursery Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the nursery, working closely with the senior management team within the school, ensuring that all children are provided with high quality early learning and childcare.

The successful candidate will have strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. The individual must be highly motivated, have a positive attitude towards working with children, and be ready to support the nursery team and assist with management activities.

This position may be suitable for a secondment. Line management approval should be sought before applying for the position.

You are required to hold a qualification in Social Services, Children & Young People at SCQF Level 7, or an HNC in Childhood Practice at Level 7 (or equivalent).

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
