You will be required to work 30 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.

Monday to Friday 08:30am – 2:30pm

This position is responsible for managing a large school kitchen. You will receive guidance and support from your line manager.

Applicants must have Catering Manager or supervisory experience, along with cooking skills/experience.

Your duties will include:

  1. Providing Early Years and School Meals to children and young people
  2. Managing the kitchen budget
  3. Ensuring compliance with H.A.S.A.W. and CookSafe standards
  4. Organising the daily operations of the kitchen
  5. Working under pressure and meeting deadlines
  6. Handling problem management effectively
  7. Addressing customer complaints
  8. Following Council processes and procedures
  9. Utilising technology effectively
  10. Staying informed about current food trends and customer preferences

This position is classified as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, successful candidates will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check before a formal employment offer is made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have resided outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered the position, will need to provide a police record check from the police authority in the country or countries of residence, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check.
