We are looking to appoint a Clerical Assistant to join our friendly and busy school office for 25.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. This is a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the school, providing vital administrative support across the whole 2-18 campus.

The successful candidate will be motivated, organised and resourceful, with strong IT skills and a professional, welcoming manner. Duties will include maintaining school records, processing financial transactions, handling enquiries, managing correspondence, supporting events and activities, and assisting with the day-to-day running of the school office. Confidentiality and accuracy are essential.

You should be educated to SCQF Level 4 (or equivalent) and confident using Microsoft Office. While experience of office or reception work and familiarity with systems such as SEEMIS or Integra would be an advantage, we do welcome applications from those with the skills and enthusiasm to learn.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
