Advert Clerical Assistant (Permanent) (7/01195) Lockerbie Academy £20,733.54 – £20,829.56 This is an exciting opportunity to work in the busy and rewarding role of Clerical Assistant at Lockerbie Academy, 36 hours per week over 39 weeks of the year. The Clerical Assistant at Lockerbie Academy plays a vital role in the smooth and efficient running of the school. Some aspects of the role include reception/telephone duties, maintaining accurate pupil records, collating data, cash handling/banking along with general office duties including photocopying, filing and organising school trips. We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and resourceful individual to fulfil this challenging and exciting role in our school. Excellent organisational and IT skills are essential, along with previous clerical experience. This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council. Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
