Casual Health & Fitness Instructor
Dumfries
£14.83 per hour
We\’re looking for enthusiastic and motivated Fitness Instructors to join our team here At DG1. You will help support in the delivery of our high quality fitness sessions as well as support our customers on their wellness journey.
Working on a casual basis to cover annual leave and sickness, we are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a passion for fitness and helping others. This exciting role involves delivering group fitness classes as well as motivating, supporting and educating customers on correct exercise technique. You will also induct customers into our gym and provide fitness programmes. Gym supervision is also required where you will ensure a clean, safe and positive workout environment.
The ability to work as part of a team is essential, but you will also have the ability to use your own initiative to ensure the smooth running of our service. Your customer care skills must be excellent and we require someone with a friendly and outgoing personality. Legend, our Leisure Management System, is integral to our business, and a basic knowledge of IT is desired.
You will ideally possess a recognised Level 2 Gym Instructor /Exercise to Music qualification / registration on The Register of Exercise Professionals at Level 2 or above/ Les Mills qualified discipline. Applications will be considered from candidates who possess only one of these qualifications as training may be provided.
A First Aid Qualification, IT skills and knowledge of Health and Safety would be an advantage.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
