Working as and when required, you will be required to work in Primary/Secondary schools.

You must have managerial or supervisory experience within a catering environment as well as cooking skills/experience.

Tasks associated with this post include:

  1. Providing Early Years and School Meals to children and young people
  2. Managing the kitchen budget
  3. Responsible for H.A.S.A.W. and Cooksafe
  4. Organising the day-to-day running of the kitchen
  5. Working under pressure and meeting deadlines
  6. Approaching problem management with ease
  7. Dealing with any complaints
  8. Following Council processes and procedures
  9. Using technology
  10. Being aware of current food trends and customer awareness

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
