Dumfries and Galloway Council is seeking a skilled Vehicle & Plant Mechanic to support its vehicle maintenance operations at our Abercromby workshop in Castle Douglas. You'll be part of a professional, well-organised team working in a modern, fully equipped facility.
- Hours: 36 hours per week, with optional overtime
- Pay: Time and a half for regular overtime, double time for unsociable hours
- 35 days of annual leave (rising to 40 days after 5 years of service)

Your Role
You'll be responsible for maintaining the Council's wide-ranging fleet, which includes:
- Small plant equipment
- HGVs and buses
- Minibuses, vans, and cars
Tasks will include scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, test preparation, and repairs in line with Transport and Health & Safety legislation. There is also potential to train as a Class IV, V, and VII MOT tester.
Flexibility to support overtime and participate in a standby rota as needed. Full driving licence is essential. LGV/PSV licence is desirable.
