The predicted salary is between 10381 - 10560 Β£ per year.
We are looking for a General Assistant funded by the Pupil Equity Funding. This is a fixed term post commencing in August 2026 for 16.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, until August 2027. This post is to assist the school in raising attainment. Main duties include supporting learners in small groups to undertake targeted interventions and run small Nurture groups as well as some Playground Supervision.
The successful candidate will be motivated, organised and must have a pleasant manner and relevant experience working with children and young people. Applicants must be educated to Standard Grade English and Mathematics at Level 4 or equivalent.
This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your Line Manager must be sought before applying for this post.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
