This full time, permanent post presents an exciting opportunity to work as part of the Active Schools and Community Sport team within the Education, Skills and Community Wellbeing Directorate. Working with school and community partners to increase participation in sport and physical activity in Dumfries and Galloway.
This role involves working with a cluster of schools and with local and national partners. Building capacity through the recruitment, retention, and development of a network of volunteers to support delivery of sport and physical activity in our schools and wider community.
Applicants must be educated to degree level or equivalent and/or have extensive experience working at a similar level in Leisure and Sport, Education, Health or an appropriate field.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and work on own initiative together with the ability to organise and co-ordinate physical activity programmes.
- Possess personal motivation, which inspires a strong commitment to working towards the concept of School and Community Sport.
- Knowledge and understanding of the aims of School and Community Sport and LTAD pathways.
- Experience of engaging with the community through sport and physical activity.
- Marketing, promotion and event management.
- Performance and project management experience.
A current driving licence is an essential requirement of these posts. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
