We’re now looking for a Building Facilities Assistant to join our friendly, supportive team at Johnstonebridge Primary. This is an excellent opportunity if you’re seeking term-time, family-friendly work in a role where your contribution is genuinely valued.

About the role: You’ll be part of a dynamic, customer-facing facilities team, providing essential janitorial and cleaning support to help keep the school safe, clean and welcoming for pupils, staff, and visitors. Your duties will include:

  • Carrying out general cleaning and janitorial tasks to a high standard
  • Supporting daily building safety checks and health & safety procedures
  • Assisting the Lead Occupier with safe operation of the premises
  • Supporting energy efficiency and responsible building usage
  • Liaising professionally with all staff and service users

You’ll work both independently and as part of a small team, using a proactive, organised, and methodical approach.

Working Hours: You will be required to work 11.25 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. (6.5 of these hours will be cleaning and 4.75 janitorial) 2pm – 4.18pm Monday to Friday. This post is fixed term for up to 12 months. This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.

What we’re looking for:

  • A reliable, motivated individual with good attention to detail
  • Someone approachable, professional, and customer focused
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills are essential
  • A current driving license is required (reasonable adjustments will be considered)

Important information: This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
