Based within Cargen Tower, Dumfries, the post will be part of the Solutions Centre Team which provides a full range of clerical and administrative support to the Facilities, Waste and Neighbourhood Services teams. The post is an integral part of the Solutions Centre and you must have experience in a multi-tasking environment, working with members of the public, a core skill of communicating with staff and clients/customers and experience working to tight deadlines.
You will be confident and highly motivated with the ability to work within a challenging, but rewarding, working environment as part of a team and as an individual. You will possess good organisational and interpersonal skills and have experience working in an office environment.
Duties include input, update and interrogation of data utilising various database systems. You will be the first point of contact for staff and members of the public. General clerical duties associated with an office environment. You will be required to deal with simple financial transactions.
You will be educated to SVQ Level 3 in a relevant subject or Standard Grade or equivalent in English and Maths. A good knowledge of Microsoft packages is essential, with good knowledge of general office working procedures being desirable. This is a permanent post. 36 hours per week: Monday – Friday.
