We’re looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Kitchen Porter to join our Commercial Development and Delivery Team, supporting the successful delivery of our evening cooking classes.

About the role

As a Kitchen Porter, you’ll provide essential practical support to our chef instructors and learners during evening cooking classes. You’ll help ensure the kitchen is clean, safe, organised and ready for each session, allowing our chefs and students to focus on developing their cooking skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

· Washing dishes, utensils, pots, pans and kitchen equipment promptly and efficiently

· Maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen work areas, floors, walls and storage areas

· Supporting chefs with basic food preparation tasks when required

· Ensuring kitchen equipment and work areas are clean and ready for use

· Disposing of waste and recycling in accordance with health and safety procedures

• Using cleaning materials and chemicals safely and storing them correctly

· Following food hygiene, health and safety and College procedures at all times

· Helping to maintain a safe, tidy and organised working environment

Previous experience of working in a professional kitchen, catering or a similar environment would be an advantage, but it isn’t essential. Full training and support will be provided.

To succeed in this role, you will have some or all of the following:

• Practical experience in a kitchen environment is desirable
• Food Hygiene certification is desirable
• Strong customer service, organisation, teamworking, and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in digital skills relevant to the role, including experience using MS Office and any job-specific systems.
• Adaptability to evolving digital tools and a willingness to continuously improve digital competencies.
• Full UK Driving Licence
