We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Employability & Skills Officer to join our Commercial Development and Delivery Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to use your professional experience to make a real difference to people’s lives, while delivering high-quality employability training within a College that is committed to staying one step ahead.
About the role
You’ll deliver a range of practical and engaging employability programmes to learners with a wide range of abilities and backgrounds. This could include supporting people to develop essential skills, build confidence and prepare for the workplace, as well as helping those looking to develop their existing skills and successfully return to employment.
A key part of the role will be recruiting learners onto our programmes and developing strong referral pathways. You’ll work closely with partner organisations, community groups, employability services and other stakeholders to promote our programmes, encourage referrals and ensure we reach the people who could benefit most from our support.
You’ll build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, identifying opportunities to strengthen partnerships and increase participation in our employability provision.
You’ll also create positive, supportive learning experiences that help learners recognise their strengths, overcome barriers and take their next steps towards employment and further development.
What we’re looking for
You’ll have current experience of supporting people into employment, training or professional development, along with the enthusiasm and confidence to share your knowledge and inspire others.
You’ll also be a confident relationship builder who enjoys working with a range of organisations and individuals to create opportunities and achieve positive outcomes.
We’re particularly interested in people who can:
· Build positive and supportive relationships with learners
· Recruit and engage learners onto employability and skills programmes
· Develop effective referral pathways with partner organisations and community stakeholders
· Build and maintain strong professional relationships with a range of external partners
Previous experience of delivering training or accredited courses would be an advantage, but isn't essential. If you have experience supporting people into employment or training, excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for helping others succeed, we’ll provide the training and support you need to develop your teaching skills.

To succeed in this role, you will have some or all of the following:
- Qualifications or skills and experience at SCQF Level 7
- Practical experience supporting others into employment or training
- A Group Training Certificate or similar is desirable.
- Experience delivering training courses is desirable.
- Strong customer service, organisation, teamworking, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in digital skills relevant to the role, including experience using MS Office and any job-specific systems.
- Adaptability to evolving digital tools and a willingness to continuously improve digital competencies.
- Full UK Driving Licence
