About this Role

An exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Psychology teacher to join our small, dynamic and growing department on a part-time, fixed-term maternity cover basis until December 2027.

The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and proven experience teaching A level Psychology, ideally with experience of the AQA specification. They will teach a significant proportion of the Psychology programme and contribute to the continued development of this increasingly popular subject.

Psychology is currently studied by around 30 pupils across two year groups. The department also offers a vibrant enrichment programme, including an active Psychology Society and a series of talks exploring a wide range of psychological themes. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to and potentially develop these opportunities further.

The ability to teach Biology or another science subject would be advantageous, as would a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the College. We are committed to diversity and inclusion and expect these principles to be reflected in teaching and learning.

For an exceptional candidate, there may be an opportunity to continue in a teaching role beyond the initial fixed-term appointment.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This is the responsibility of the whole College community. We remain vigilant about safeguarding and do not assume that child abuse could not happen here or affect our pupils. A DBS Disclosure is required at the Enhanced level. The DBS Code of Practice and the Standard and Enhanced DBS Privacy Policy can be found on our website. Charity 1150064
