You will play a key role in supporting the Archive team across a variety of important tasks, with a primary focus on digital and in-depth cataloguing. This includes working extensively with digital platforms such as Preservica and Invu to manage and preserve the Archive's valuable collections. You will also be responsible for cataloguing new acquisitions and continuing the detailed cataloguing of existing materials to ensure the Archive remains comprehensive and accessible.
In addition to cataloguing, you will actively contribute to outreach initiatives, particularly Shackleton Tours, engaging both members of the public and school groups. This role offers the opportunity to support the delivery of curriculum-based lessons and classes, using the Archive's collections to enrich educational experiences for pupils.
You will assist in managing enquiries from visitors and external contacts, handling communications by telephone, letter, or email, with attention to Freedom of Information and Data Protection requirements. Another key aspect of the role is delivering informative tours of the Archive collection and historic buildings, including tours of the James Caird and Shackleton collections, as well as participation in events such as Open House Weekend.
Finally, you will support the Archive's wider partnerships within Dulwich College, contributing to the ongoing integration of the Archive's work with the College's broader educational and community objectives.
