We now have a great opportunity available for a Payroll Administrator to join the team at our Elgin, IL, headquarters. If you have experience with prevailing wage payroll, that is a plus! This is an office-based position, not hybrid or remote.

What You Will Do: As the Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for processing payroll for the organization. You will ensure accurate processing of payroll, benefits, and wage reporting while adhering to federal, state, and local labor laws, including having Davis-Bacon Act and prevailing wage knowledge and expertise. You enjoy working with both people and numbers, and are dedicated to providing exceptional customer service to all employees. You will:
- Process weekly payroll for up to 500 exempt, non-exempt, and commissioned employees nationally, ensuring accuracy and compliance with wage laws
- Verify employee classifications and wage determinations under prevailing wage laws
- Prepare and submit certified payroll reports as required by government agencies for prevailing wage payroll
- Maintain records of fringe benefits and wage rates for compliance audits
- Calculate weekly payroll including prevailing wage, multistate, piece rates
- Process monthly sales commission payouts
- Process annual bonus payments
- Respond to child support and employee verification requests
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies
- Stay up to date with wage laws, tax regulations, and payroll best practices
- Assist employees with payroll inquiries, deductions, and benefits-related concerns
- Other duties as assigned

- Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of payroll experience required; prevailing wage payroll strongly preferred
- Payroll certification preferred
- Exceptional customer service skills and you enjoy working with internal and external customers
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong follow up skills
- Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now, including payroll processing
- Strong computer skills are required including MS Office (Advanced Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), and ERP systems
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to receive and process information in a professional, sensitive, confidential, and timely manner
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing and laws
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability and willingness to work overtime or weekends as necessary
