Operations Manager, Underground Infrastructure Services
Duke\’s is now looking for an Operations Manager based out of our Plymouth, MI, regional office. This is an excellent leadership opportunity within our Great Lakes Division offering the chance to make a significant impact on our operations, our team, and ultimately to our underground infrastructure.

What YOU Will Do:
Reporting to the Area Manager, you will manage the water/wastewater/stormwater projects and services that we provide for our customers, manage field operations including the performance and safety of our crews, and ensure company equipment, vehicles, and tools are in safe working order. In this role, you are as comfortable working in an office environment as you are performing work in the field. You will:
- Direct and coordinate operations workflow with field superintendents and project managers to achieve optimum use of materials, labor and equipment, including recommending and monitoring project work and expenditures to control costs
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, equipment maintenance, and operational policies, protocols, and regulations
- Manage the efficient operations and coordination of assigned projects, crews and equipment with strong focus on safety in each of these areas
- Manage field superintendents and field crews including hiring, training, and performance management
- Prepare, review and maintain reports and records such as budgets, work project analyses, surveys, work order progress and status reports, maintenance requests, equipment specifications, and operating costs
- Perform other duties as assigned

- A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Management, or similar
- A minimum of 1 – 2 years of underground pipeline infrastructure, construction, civil engineering, water/wastewater, or oil & gas industry experience
- A valid driver’s license
- A minimum of five (5) years of related operations management experience
- A minimum of five (5) years of related people management experience
- Strong experience working with computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), ERP systems, expense reporting systems, etc.
- Knowledge of financial and budgeting processes and principles including EBITDA, profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash-flow management
- Knowledge of applicable safety, OSHA, DOT, federal, state, and local laws, requirements, and regulations
- Ability to positively build and maintain relationships with both internal teams, external customers, vendors, and local, state, and federal agencies
- Ability to lead and manage teams of people with a positive attitude and engaging manner
- Ability to communicate in both written and verbal manners clearly, directly, respectfully, and professionally
- Experience writing business reports, correspondence, and operations procedure manuals
- Are willing and able to travel to project sites including out of town and overnight stays up to 50% of the time
- Are willing and able to work outside in all weather conditions around water/wastewater/stormwater environment and confined spaces
- Other preferred experience includes:
- NASSCO certification
- Project Management certification and experience
- Knowledge of CDL/DOT driver regulations
