Hampton Court House is an award-winning independent co-educational day school for ages 2 – 18, educating children and young people from pre-nursery to Year 13. The majority of our 300+ pupils elect to stay on to complete their full education with us, enjoying high levels of academic success in their GCSEs and A levels with high acceptance levels at Russell and Oxbridge Group and prestigious international universities.

We seek an excellent, highly passionate teacher of History to join this successful and dynamic department from September 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching history in Years 7-13. The role will report to the Head of Faculty – Humanities.
Looking for someone with:

- A fascination with the many varied methods of challenging and inspiring children and teenagers both inside the classroom and outside;
- A desire to participate actively in the life of a busy and ambitious school;
- A belief that every pupil can succeed beyond their expectations;
- A sense of adventure as well as a sense of humour;
- An interest in the peoples, cultures and languages of the world.
Postholder will also be expected to:
- Run at least one co-curricular club throughout the school year;
- Participate in a range of enriching, history-focused trips and visits throughout the school year;
- Help run history interventions and clinics as needed;
- Be a form tutor to a small form group;
- Attend parents’ evenings;
- Other reasonable duties as directed by the Leadership Team.
Hampton Court House offers its own competitive salary scale. Applications are welcomed from colleagues in both the independent and state-maintained sectors.
