Opportunity for a September start. We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and dynamic person to play an active role in the College’s large, thriving and highly successful Visual Arts Department. Working alongside a highly experienced team of subject specialists, the ideal candidate for this role will have a good level of knowledge and passion for Graphic Communication and Design.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish classroom practice within a small-group teaching model and hold a teaching timetable.
- Mentor by experienced members of the teaching team and pursue professional growth with appropriate training.
- Deliver design courses covering brand identity, packaging, marketing, print, web, app design, motion graphics, environmental graphics, photography, animation and illustration using traditional and digital techniques.
- Plan and facilitate workshops and extra-curricular clubs throughout the year for various year groups.
- Create project briefs that enable students to apply fundamental elements and principles of Graphic Design.
- Foster a genuine love of graphic and digital arts and inspire students to stretch their creative potential.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate status or equivalent, interested in starting a teaching career.
- Good knowledge and passion for Graphic Communication and Design, including familiarity with the AQA GCSE & A level specification.
- Flexibility, adaptability and quick-thinking skills.
Professional Development & Support
The College holds an entry-level position and will support the new teacher through training, mentoring and a full teaching timetable.
